Who is Gu Ailing?
Freestyle skier Eileen Feng Gu, whose Chinese name is Gu Ailing (谷爱凌), was born on September 3, 2003. At only 18 years old, Gu won gold in big air and halfpipe and silver in slopestyle at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, making her the youngest Olympic winner in freestyle skiing. Thus, at a single Winter Olympics, she became the first freestyle skier to win three medals.
In 2022, Time’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world included her in the ‘Pioneers’ category.
